This piece portrays an Ethiopian woman playing a traditional harp-like instrument known as the kirar. To her left, the word "faith" is written in Amharic script. The artwork seeks to convey the experience of understanding someone through their cultural lens, appreciating their identity within the context of their heritage. The recurring motif of the eye, featured in many of my works, symbolizes ONE'S PURE AND TRUE SOUL. This perspective aspires to be free from prejudice and preconceived notions, embracing the essence of one’s authentic self.
