through this piece, I sought to capture the profound sense of disassociation that Black women often endure under the weight of societal pressures. The relentless push to conform to identities that conflict with our authentic selves, or to diminish our inherent value to appease others, creates barriers that obstruct our ability to fully realize and pursue the boundless potential of our future paths.
